In 1996 Joyce Black founded the graphic design firm, J.Bird Design, Inc. Its services include building complete corporate identities ranging from developing logo packages, brochures, advertisements and newsletters, to the design of Web sites. She has over 13 years experience in the field of Graphic Design starting with a Bachelors degree in Applied Arts & Science.

Joyce has received various awards and honors such as a full scholarship to the Anderson School of Entrepreneurial Study at UCLA. She was the recipient of the Minority Female Business Owner of the Year from the Greater San Diego Business Development Council. She received the Member of the Year Award from the San Diego chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and has received the Award of Excellence from the Board Report for Graphic Artists and the Award of Excellence from the American Graphic Design Award

Joyce is the proud new mom of an 11 week old daughter and these days spends most of her time with her husband Mark, as they adjust to being parents. Her other interests are roller-blading, playing with her two dogs, riding her horse, dance, and expressing her creativity through photography and painting.
